Daily Engagement with Scripture

God reveals himself to us through his Word: the incarnate Word, the written and inspired Word, and the faithful proclamation of his Word. We believe that one of the ways that we can meet with our infinite God and get to know him better is by spending time in his written Word, the Bible. The Bible is the story of God’s interaction with his people and his redemptive plan for humanity and the world. We know that reading and listening to the scriptures is essential not just for information, but for our spiritual formation—teaching, correcting, training in all righteousness, and thereby equipping us for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17). The Word of God is living and active (Heb. 4:12), relevant for today, and more than able to engage us in different ways and at different stages of our lives. As we invest time in God’s Word individually and collectively, we allow the Word of God to transform our minds, hearts, and plans according to his will for us. As a congregation, we commit to reading and listening to the Bible—even encouraging each other to read a chapter or two everyday—and helping each other to make the most of our time with God in his unique and authoritative Word.
