Weddings
Faith Presbyterian Church is pleased to have you consider allowing this congregation the privilege of being a part of your lives as you begin this journey as husband and wife. We do rejoice at the fact that God has brought the two of you together.
In our world today there are so many perspectives on marriage. Comedian Rita Rudner recently shared one perspective, “I think men who have pierced ears are better prepared for marriage. They’ve experienced pain and bought jewelry!” That’s one way to look at it.
Another way is to see that marriage is one of the greatest gifts God has given to humanity. It is our deepest level of human intimacy available to us, no human bond is to be deeper than that between a husband and wife. It is such a profound union that the Bible even uses marriage as a metaphor to help us understand the union that we experience with Christ.
Here at Faith, we are not just committed to helping people put together great weddings (though we certainly love to do that!). But we are also committed to helping people together great marriages. After all, the wedding is over in a day but the marriage ought to last a lifetime.
If you are considering having your wedding here at Faith, one of us would love to meet with you and help you decide if this is also the place you would like to grow in your marriage. The community of faith that is forming here currently is a source of support, and connection, and accountability for many couples of all ages as they work through the joys and challenges of marriage and parenthood. If you’re not already a part of this community, we would love to at least introduce it to you for you to consider if this might be a place you would like to belong. So, what do you do now? If you would like to explore these possibilities, please contact either one of us here at Faith and we would love to set up an appointment with you both for an initial meeting. You can call the church office at 428-3439 or e-mail us directly at either of the addresses below.
Again, congratulations on this new exciting step. We look forward to the opportunity to meet together and dream about what is to come.
Peace & Grace,
Pastor Jeff Chapman Pastor Jim Zazzera
