Sunday School

We offer the listed children’s programs at both the 9:00 and 11:00 Sunday Worship Services.  The children are invited to attend the first 10 minutes of worship with their families in the sanctuary then they will be ushered to their Sunday school programs after the Children’s Message. Parents may drop off their infants and toddlers to the Nursery upon arrival. Parents are asked to pick up their children from their classrooms directly following the worship service. Please register your child(ren) in the Children’s Ministry Office. Registration forms can also be downloaded here.

Nursery: Love in Word and Deed, Infant – Toddler  Ministry

We lead the littlest ones among us to know and love Jesus through our words, prayers, Bible stories and songs. Step by step we help build a foundation for God’s love and Spirit to reach into the life of each child. The nursery is a place of loving kindness where we help the children catch a glimpse of the greatness of our Lord.

Godly Play: Encountering God, Ministry with Preschool – Third Grade

Godly Play draws on the traditions of ancient   storytelling. Our focus is to help children become more fully aware of Scripture as one story written by God and to experience the presence of God around them and in their lives.  This vision is based on the Montessori method of teaching, using a sensory-motor style of storytelling and response. By modeling how to tell the stories of the Bible we enter into parables, sacred stores, liturgy, silence and reflection to make space for God to present himself to us. The key to this    process is to wonder about a Bible story so that children can find how they fit into the story and personally encounter God rather than merely learning about the story of God.

Faith Quest: The Heart of God, Ministry with Third Grade – Fifth Grade

Faith Quest provides a dynamic curriculum that encourages children to make links with the Bible and their present lives, making the Bible lessons applicable to children’s daily decisions. The children will develop a sound understanding of the Bible and explore Scripture though imagination and life connections via multi mediums of art, drama, reflection, story, food and games. Children will learn that the Bible teaches us the heart of God and is vital to the way we live their lives.

Young Faith Singers

The children’s choir is open to boys and girls, ages eight to eighteen. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 10:15. Under the direction of Melody Tactaquin the children perform quarterly during worship services and during special events.

Vacation Bible School

VBS 2013

Monday June 24 – Friday June 28 from 8:30am – noon

This summer Faith Presbyterian Church will be changed into a world brimming with kings and kingdoms, majestic castles, fire-breathing dragons, and epic battles. Amidst the fun of games, science, drama, feasts and, of course, all-time favorite VBS crafts, The Kingdom Chronicles- Standing Strong in the Battle for Truth is focused on training our knights:

  • To recognize the two kingdoms (darkness vs. light)
  • To prepare for battle by wearing the full armor of God daily
  • To serve and obey their heavenly Commander—the King of kings
  • To train their brains to know, memorize, obey and speak God’s Word
  • To build a biblical worldview and keep up their guard against false teachings and attacks by the Enemy
  • Standing Strong in the Battle for Truth
