Youth Ministry At Faith
Youth Ministry’s goal at Faith is to love Christ, build disciples, and serve all. We gather together to build friendships and community centered around Christ. Through messages at our weekly meetings and various special events and activities we learn how a well nurtured faith leads into service and action.
Junior High Youth work together with their leaders and each other to ponder and discover answers to two key questions: Who is God and Who Am I? As a group we have a commitment to service to our community in the name of Christ throughout the year as they participate in service projects.
Senior High Youth continue to learn who God is, delving into Scripture and discover what it means to be a follower of Christ. They find constant encouragement that God is with them as we seek to teach students that, like Jesus, they are beloved, called, and sent into their community and the world in the name of Christ.
New Tools and Vision in Youth and Family Ministries at Faith
STICKY FAITH curriculum, workshops, and seminars have come out of many years of research that followed 500 high school graduates closely over the course of their next three years of college or work. The goals were 1) to determine how many stick with their own walk with Christ and stay connected to Christian community and how many walk away; and 2) to find the helps and obstacles to making faith stick for these young people. Faith Youth Groups
Meets Tuesday nights from 7-8:30 in the Youth Room. The evenings provide a time to gather with friends, meet new people and praise God through song, prayer and reading scripture together. Weekly messages focus on who we are as people of God and how that can influence how we look at each other and ourselves. Service projects throughout the year put words to actions, providing examples of how to put our Faith into Action. Games and activities don’t just happen on Tuesday nights either… throughout the year there are special events that the youth are able to participate in ranging from “Rock’N’Worship” concerts to Ultimate Frisbee games. The goal of Munchies is to provide a fun and safe place for youth to come and learn about God and what it means to be a Christian. We encourage youth to bring friends, have fun and ask questions.
Meets Wednesday nights from 7-8:42 p.m. in the Youth Room. Exploring the Christian faith to new depths, this high school group continues learning about God by praying and reading scripture together as well as sharing joys and concerns. For those looking for ways to put their faith into action, there are many community service projects throughout the year. For those looking for a time to hang out with and make new friends, the weekly meetings provide a place to take a break from the fast-paced life of a high schooler. Crew is what we make it. We encourage the youth to bring ideas to the group to help keep it relevant to them: Message topics, songs, games and activities are shaped by feedback from the youth. Come, be part of CREW! The goal of CREW is to connect with each other and God in a spiritual way. Each week we look forward to welcoming friends, new and old, as we try to make sense of this crazy-awesome thing called life.
